WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

American engineer Paul W. Klipsch (PWK) designed and manufactured horn-loaded speakers that accurately reproduced sound. He changed the hi-fidelity (hi-fi) industry forever. Klipsch speakers have been designed and manufactured in Hope, Arkansas since 1946. PWK inspired engineers with his technical prowess captured in his many research papers and registered patents.

PWK awed and amused collaborators and associates with his “eccentric genius” behavior, and confounded competitors by pointing out their systems’ faults from testing in the anechoic chamber he designed and constructed. Ultimately, PWK delighted music lovers and sound professionals by combining audio realism with beautifully crafted speakers for homes, movie theaters, auditoriums, churches, and concert stages.

The Klipsch Museum of Audio History exists to restore, preserve, maintain and display Klipsch and Klipsch-related artifacts and archival materials for historic purposes, as well as to conduct pertinent historical research and to host educational activities and events.

The Museum uses music and PWK’s science of sound to foster interest in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) education.
