My name is Jen Dumiak, and you are probably wondering how I got here.
I grew up playing sports, and my parents sacrificed an incredible amount of time, energy, and money (travel sports for four kids is not a joke) to give me every opportunity they could. Because of them, I had access to coaches, teams, experiences, and support systems that allowed me to compete at the highest levels.
Sports shaped who I am. They taught me discipline, resilience, confidence, and how to push myself beyond what I thought was possible. But the reality is that many kids never get access to those same opportunities.
That is why I am fundraising for Roads to Success while training for the NYC Marathon. Their mission of helping young people access opportunities, mentorship, and experiences that can change the trajectory of their lives is meaningful to me.
If you know me, you know I put passion and intensity into everything I do (shout out Janet, IYKYK). Training for this marathon is no exception. I would be incredibly grateful for your support as I work toward my fundraising goal. And if I am work hard enough and get a little lucky, I will qualify for Boston along the way.
