Wood Foundation and it's mission to create a better future for hypothalamic-pituitary brain tumor patients while contributing to the greater ecosystem of brain research and patient care.

Founded in 2017 by parents who personally experienced the challenges of craniopharyngioma, the Foundation is driven by a deep commitment to making a difference.

To date, we have helped hundreds of patients and caregivers to navigate the journey from diagnosis to treatment and through the lifelong challenges that exist. We serve as a powerful advocate for the craniopharyngioma and hypothalamic-pituitary brain tumor patient community in the realm of research and healthcare and work to amplify the voice of survivors and caregivers, ensuring their perspectives are heard and valued.

Here is a look at what we have accomplished in 2025. This is made possible by the generosity of donors like you:

In collaboration with international experts and stakeholders within the hypothalamic-pituitary brain tumor community, RAWF established a first of its kind patient registry to serve as a resource for comprehensive patient data collection and analysis. Our team has recruited more than 300 patients to submit data and is working to use the data to enhance understanding of the natural history, varied characteristics, and associated co-morbidities while facilitating clinical trial recruitment and illuminating the patient and caregiver journey.
The Foundation continues its efforts to develop a means to test blood sodium at home, which would help with the management of arginine vasopressin deficiency (AVP-D) formerly referred to as diabetes insipidus, a complex medical condition that occurs when the body cannot regulate fluid. Currently, there is no way to measure blood sodium outside of a lab setting, and this new technology has the potential to transform quality of life for patients.
Monthly Survivor. Caregiver and Grief Support Groups continue to provide an outlet for our community to connect, offer and obtain resources, and to simply share their experiences. Led by trained professionals and persons directly impacted by rare brain tumors, these sessions welcome participants from school aged to adult and from across the globe.
