The International Women’s Coffee Alliance - IWCA - unites a global network of chapters and supports the work and growth of women in the international coffee community. IWCA supports the development of solutions and programs to empower women into the coffee value chain, by reaching out the international coffee market and support the creation of policies to participate into their local coffee organizations. Currently IWCA works with 35 chapters around the world, in coffee producing and consuming countries.

Background

IWCA Chapters in coffee consuming countries has increase in number and in members. So is the interest in supporting women that are not participating in coffee growing activity, but in the coffee processing, trading, learning, marketing and any other activity supporting the coffee consumption and the appreciation that visibilities the work of women in the whole coffee-value-chain. It has become evident the need of gathering among these IWCA Chapters in Coffee Consuming Countries, and include other IWCA Chapter members participating in these areas of the international coffee industry. IWCA has signed and MoU with La Marzocco Accademia and will join efforts in supporting women jointly.

Objectives

Exchange of knowledge and experience among IWCA Chapters.
Identify areas to develop workshops, conferences, webinars, and any activity relevant in supporting the growth and improvement of women’s business and activities within the coffee industry.
Connection of the whole coffee value chain within IWCA Chapters – women supporting women – connecting buyers and sellers and increasing our network and data base.

Proposed Program - Workshops will be developed and delivered in Spanish only.

One to two Chapter representatives per organization. IWCA will sponsor the airfare of one leader per chapter, encouraging the presence of at least two leaders per chapter or organization in formation. All other participants should take care of their own transportation and accommodation to the venue.
