Sloper Plunge Event Info

Join us for the coolest fundraiser in town on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 1PM at YMCA Camp Sloper! Each year, hundreds of volunteers from Southington and Cheshire take the plunge into Sloper Pond to raise money for scholarships and financial aid, helping local children experience the fun, friendships, and joy of camp.

Information on Participating in the 2026 Sloper Plunge is Below!

Whether you have been part of the Sloper Plunge in the past or want to check this off your bucket list, we hope you're able to jump with us this year! Please see the information below for the steps you can take to join a team and participate in the 2026 Sloper Plunge!

To participate in the plunge, you need to meet the following criteria:

Minimum age: 16 years old with parent consent or 18 years or older to participate (as of February 28, 2026).
Must be able to swim without assistance.
Obtain donations for yourself totaling a minimum of $100 per participant. Need help setting up your fundraising page? Want help on how to raise money?
Sign and submit a WAIVER FORM prior to taking the plunge. Parents/Guardians must complete and sign waivers for 16 & 17 year old minors.
Turn in the PLEDGE FORM and WAIVER FORM (if not already completed online) on plunge day!

Start Fundraising for Your Team TODAY!

It is super easy to set up your Fundraising Page; just follow the steps below - or reference this Guide.

Step 1: Click on the "Fundraise" button in the Team Members section.
Step 2: Create a Givebutter account and log in (or if you have an existing account from a previous year, use that one!)
Step 3: Select a Team to fundraise from the list of teams available.
Step 4: Edit your donation page to include your fundraising goal and a quick bio about yourself and why you plunge!
Step 5: Start fundraising by sharing your page on your social media accounts, through email, and more!
