Building on the legacy of Chicago’s vibrant Black church and gospel choir tradition, GraceNote Collective brings the gospel choir experience beyond the walls of a single congregation, creating space for people of different faith backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences to come together through music and shared worship.

Rooted in the belief that gospel music can be both deeply faithful to the tradition from which it comes and radically welcoming to those who encounter it, GraceNote is cultivating more than a choir. We are building a community grounded in artistic excellence, spiritual humility, and radical inclusivity, where singers and audiences alike are invited to experience the joy, power, and connection of gospel music.

Guided by a dedicated board of directors and deep relationships across Chicagoland’s choral, faith, and community spaces, GraceNote Collective is creating new opportunities for people to gather, sing, worship, listen, and build relationships across lines of difference.
