Utah Unsolved Case Summit 2027

Move Cases Forward. Bring Families Answers.

Every unsolved case represents a victim who deserves justice and a family still waiting for answers.

Join investigators, prosecutors, forensic experts, victim advocates, and industry leaders for three days of advanced training designed to help move cases from unsolved to solved.

The Utah Unsolved Case Summit is built on a simple belief: training inspires action, and action leads to justice.

Hosted by the Sherry Black Foundation, this summit is designed to work alongside investigators by providing practical tools, emerging technologies, investigative strategies, and real-world case lessons that can be applied immediately to active and cold case investigations.

Learn from experienced professionals who have successfully solved complex cases, leveraged new forensic technologies, developed innovative investigative approaches, and navigated the unique challenges of working with families who have spent years—or even decades—waiting for answers.

Attendees will gain insight into:

Emerging forensic and DNA technologies
Cold case investigative strategies and case reviews
Victim and family engagement in long-term investigations
Partnerships and resources available to support case advancement
Lessons learned from successful case resolutions
