Touchdowns For Tomorrow is a flag football tournament. Our primary goal is to raise money in support of mental health and suicide awareness to honor Wyatt Banks and McAuley Millen. After a successful two years, we look forward to our third annual tournament, where we aim to further strengthen the UGA community against mental health crises and suicide.

All the money raised will be donated to the Wyatt Banks Foundation, which is a registered 501c3. The Wyatt Banks Foundation will donate all the money we raise to a “Sunshine Fund” through the UGA Student Care and Outreach Office.

We are setting a goal of $50,000 for our second year. Every $1,000 we raise allows a student in need to attend biweekly therapy sessions for an entire semester. Many UGA students need help but are scared to ask their parents for the money, or can not afford it. This project would allow those people to get the help they need.

Wyatt Sean Banks

Wyatt Banks was a true friend and brother to everyone he encountered. He was an Honors Student majoring in Economics. He wanted to go to law school and become a judge. Wyatt loved grunge music, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and football. He was the offensive tackle and team captain of Marist High School’s football team. You could see his passion for the sport whenever it was on television. He was truly a great guy. He was always there when any one of us needed help; whether it was personal, social, or academic, Wyatt was there for any problem. It seemed like every time we went downtown, Wyatt would help three different people with some random problem. The best part is that he would do it with a smile on his face and get right back into being the life of the party. Despite his willingness to help, Wyatt kept his struggles to himself. We are creating this event not only to honor the man he was but also to remind those out there struggling that you are not alone. There are people out there who would drop everything if you called and opened up.

McAuley Millen

McAuley Millen was a light in the lives of all who knew her. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, heard, and valued. Growing up in Charlotte, McAuley attended Charlotte Country Day School and often reminisced about her summers at Camp Greystone and her study abroad experience in Switzerland. After graduating in 2020, she began her college journey at the University of Georgia, where she pursued a degree in Psychology. McAuley was a proud member of Phi Mu and enjoyed the countless socials, date nights, and philanthropy events spent with her sorority sisters.

McAuley was a passionate advocate for mental health, helping to destigmatize mental illness by openly sharing her own struggles with treatment-resistant depression and anxiety. This event is dedicated to continuing her work, raising awareness, and encouraging others who are struggling to seek the help they deserve.
