OUR MERCY STORY

This has been a year we’ll remember for years to come. The devastation and tragedy brought on by Hurricanes Helene and Milton significantly impacted our CCC community. Together, we mourned the loss of a beloved freshman student and his mother who were killed in a car accident while trying to evacuate. Additionally, we are offered support to those who lost all or part of their homes and continue to recover.

It hasn’t all been terrible, however. This year we also celebrated the hard work and amazing achievements of our students:

Those who showed compassion for friends and neighbors by helping with post-hurricane clean up (twice), donating food and money, or by providing a temporary home.
A record nine National Merit qualifiers, with five advancing as Finalists.
Successful sports seasons in which many of our teams competed deep into playoff territory.
Our determined drama troupe staged an outstanding performance of All My Sons in the week between the hurricanes.

There are countless heartbreaking and joyful memories that will be the legacy of the ‘24-’25 school year. Throughout everything, the CCC community continues to stand strong in its commitment to providing our students with a safe and enriching academic environment.
