Cape Hockey Club: Youth Development Program

This co-ed program gives kids of all skill levels three afternoons of hockey a week for 7 weeks during the winter:

Tuesdays and Thursdays: Skating, skills, and drills led by Kent Hulst, who played for the Portland Pirates of the AHL from 1993 to 2001 and captained the team from 1995 to 2001. He now runs hockey schools and camps for youth, junior, college, and professional players.
Wednesdays: A wicked fun hour of pond hockey run by Cape volunteers.

Dates:

December 15, 2026 through February 11, 2027. There are no sessions the weeks of December 21st and December 28th. The schedule is subject to changes. As an outdoor rink, weather cancellations are expected; they are built into the program cost and will not be rescheduled.

Times:

Grades 5-8: 3:00 to 4:00 pm
Grades 1-4: 4:00 to 5:00 pm

Cost: $300 per player plus transaction fees, including a Beauty Unis reversible practice jersey. The cost of this program is supplemented by the generous sponsorship of the Austin-Fernald, Bisogni, Kirby, and Kraus families.

Program Jersey: Register on or before November 1st and jerseys are expected by mid-December. After November 1st, jersey delivery is to be determined and not guaranteed.

Please complete a registration ticket ONCE PER PLAYER and please only pay for one player at a time.

Requirements:

Full hockey gear and sticks for skating, skills, and drills sessions, including the neck laceration protector mandated by USA Hockey. Helmets, gloves, and sticks are required for pond hockey sessions.
Players must have completed Kid's Learn to Play Hockey. Note: If you are new to hockey, please start with Cape Hockey Club: Kid's Learn to Play Hockey. This is held on Mondays 4-5 pm beginning December 14, with registration through Cape Community Services.
Every player must complete our online waiver and coaches will ask both players and parents to sign our [Code of Conduct].
