Purpose Statement: Our mission is to secure the future of the Kula Enchanting Gardens, a cherished 8-acre oasis of natural beauty and cultural significance on Maui. With one owner recently passing away, we have a unique opportunity to purchase 50% of the garden and ensure its preservation and transformation into a thriving, community-centered space.

Problem/Need:

The garden is at a crossroads, with the other owner looking to fulfill the garden's true potential.
We need to raise $1.4 million to acquire a 50% share and protect the garden from uncertain futures.
The garden needs immediate attention, including clearing weeds, tree maintenance, and restoring irrigation.
A native Hawaiian Hula plants garden will be established, promoting cultural exchange and respect for native plants.
More native Hawaiian plants will be established throughout the garden.
Organic food growing areas will be introduced to support sustainable practices. The original Ahupua'a is likely to have included sweet potatoes. More food trees and shrubs will be integrated throughout the garden.
The garden's irrigation system will be refurbished to ensure the vitality of the plants and water source and flow managed with the Ahupua'a system.
The local community will be welcomed to respectfully come and enjoy and find relaxation and healing in the garden.
A beautiful and healthy cafe and healing huts will be part of the garden's activities.

Impact:

By securing this 50% share, we will protect the garden from development, preserving its natural beauty and cultural significance.
Our initiatives will revitalize the garden, making it a place for the community to enjoy, learn, and heal.
The garden will serve as an educational space, promoting sustainability and cultural exchange.
It will create job opportunities, boost tourism, and contribute to the local economy.

Challenges:

One of our primary challenges is navigating the permitting process. We need to clarify the existing permit, extend the Special Use permit, and add new activities to make our vision a reality.
