On July 8th, the Angulo family’s life was shattered.

At dawn, dozens of masked federal agents stormed the home of Vlademir Angulo, the proud owner of El Taco Loko, a beloved taco truck and restaurant on 67th Ave and Indian School in Phoenix. Without warning, they raided his home, seized his food trucks, cash, and vehicles, and took Vlademir and his family into ICE custody.

Their crime? Feeding their community and living the American Dream.

El Taco Loko isn’t just a place to eat. It’s a cornerstone of the neighborhood. A vibrant business run by an immigrant family that has served thousands, provided jobs, supported local vendors, and created a space of culture, joy, and delicious food.

Vlademir came to this country with a dream — like so many of our parents, neighbors, and friends — to build a better life through honest work. And he did just that, with love, flavor, and grit. His food, his warmth, and his hard work have inspired thousands — including the nearly 30,000 TikTok followers who’ve supported El Taco Loko online.

Now, the family that gave so much to this community needs us to show up for them.
