On Thursday, March 27 there was a devastating fire at Armory Dog & Cat Hospital around 8:30pm. Nobody was injured but the hospital was severely damaged on the inside. Sadly, they lost a house cat, their beloved Amazon parrot that they've had for decades, Smith, and their parakeets.

It is early in the process of rebuilding but we are going to get up, move forward and rebuild. Armory has been a veterinary practice in the Bronx for 100 years and we intend to rebuild and continue the legacy. Right now we do not have any answers as to how the fire started or what rebuilding will truly look like. What we do know is that our dedicated staff continues to pour their heart and soul into taking care of the animals and will continue to do so even as we rebuild.

We are so deeply moved by the flood of outreach and support by the community, our clients, the town, and our partners. As Armory transitions into a temporary service structure of house-calls and mobile units, we will continue to support our staff, clients, and patients as best as we can. Any donations collected will first be directed to the tireless staff caring for patients and to help further provide services to those directly affected by the fire. Funds will be eventually transitioned towards a memorial for what has been lost.
