In 2026, Global Parents for Eczema Research (GPER) invites individuals, families, workplaces, and communities around the world to take part in the Walk-A-Marathon Step Challenge—a global movement to collectively walk 2 million steps in support of children and families living with eczema.

This challenge is designed to be achievable, flexible, and meaningful—turning everyday movement into real progress toward a cure.

Why 2 Million Steps?

Eczema affects millions of children and families worldwide—often around the clock, year after year. The goal of 2 million steps represents:

The long, daily journey caregivers walk managing eczema
The persistence required to seek answers, treatments, and relief
The power of individuals coming together to create extraordinary impact

When thousands of people each commit to one monthly marathon, those miles add up—fueling research, connection, and hope.

Global Parents for Eczema Research is a grassroots, parent-led non-profit organization that advances research and policy changes that lead to better treatments and prevention strategies for moderate to severe eczema in children. We also help patients and families with peer support and access to the latest and very best scientific information.
