Story
In Ukraine, about 2,300 educational institutions have been damaged and nearly 300 destroyed, leaving only about 25% of schools in the country safe enough to open. We believe that the emotional, mental and intellectual health of a generation of children depends upon properly functioning schools.
That’s why the Ukrainian-American crisis Response Committee of Michigan is partnering with Ukraine TrustChain and Angels of Freedom in their efforts to rebuild schools that were destroyed by the Russian invasion in Chernihiv, a city located in the north-central part of Ukraine.
In Chernihiv, 27 out of 34 schools were damaged during the war. The Angels of Freedom, a Ukrainian volunteer organization, in conjunction with the Department of Education in Chernihiv, has chosen five schools that can be restored relatively easily. They have already successfully rebuilt one, but we need your help to ensure that as many children as possible are able to return to the classroom this Fall.
There will be run/walk races up the ski hill with t-shorts. plenty of free activities for little ones at the chalet, teen activities with inflatable games including basketball, face painting, vinok making(flower ring making) crafts and art available for sale. There will be a ball drop from the ski hill at 4:30, the farthest roll has great prizes. You do not need to be present to participate. Come and join the community in a fall festival and help support this cause.
