This weekend, True North Rescue is preparing to welcome more than 35 dogs into our care, all within a matter of days.

We're taking in 25+ Chihuahuas from a hoarding case, along with two mama dogs and their 10 puppies from two entirely separate situations.

Three different circumstances. More than 35 dogs. And a whole lot of work ahead of us.

For some of these dogs, this will be the beginning of a completely different life. For the puppies, it's the chance to grow up safe, healthy, and loved. For the adults, it's an opportunity to settle into a home, receive the care and attention they deserve, and eventually find families of their own.

But before any of that can happen, there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes.

True North Rescue is an entirely volunteer-run, foster-based nonprofit. We don't have a shelter or facility. Every dog that comes into our care relies on someone opening their home, whether that's for a few weeks or a few months.

And bringing in more than 35 dogs in one weekend is no small undertaking.

There's transportation to coordinate, foster homes to secure, supplies to gather, medical appointments to arrange, and a whole lot of little mouths to feed. Our two mama dogs and their puppies will need additional care as the puppies grow, receive their vaccinations, and eventually prepare for adoption.

All of this is happening while we continue caring for the many dogs already in our rescue, including those with ongoing medical needs and those still waiting for their forever homes.

We typically help hundreds of dogs find homes each year, and none of that happens without the people who support us!

We know we can't save every dog. But when we're given the opportunity to change the lives of 35+ dogs in a single weekend, we want to be able to say yes.

And saying yes comes with a financial responsibility that extends well beyond the day they arrive.

That's why we're asking our community for help!

Donations to this fundraiser will help us cover the costs associated with bringing these dogs into our care, including transportation, veterinary expenses where needed, food, supplies, and ongoing foster support.

Whether you donate $5, $25, or simply share this campaign with someone who might be able to help, you're playing a part in giving these dogs a fresh start.

We'll be sharing updates as they arrive, settle into their foster homes, and begin their journeys toward adoption.

Thank you for continuing to show up for the dogs who need us. We couldn't do this without you.
