The Robert E. Kaiser Memorial Fund

LABF is deeply honored to receive the Robert E. Kaiser Memorial Fund in memory of Bob, a Vietnam veteran, a devoted family man, a successful corporate manager and someone who always gave his all! The time he spent fishing, being on or arounds boats, and near water always brought him solace - a feeling that was only amplified when shared with family and friends.

Bob's love of fishing and the Chesapeake Bay continues through this memorial fund, which will support Lucky & Blessed Fishing’s mission of providing inclusive fishing and outdoor programs for people of all ages and abilities.

By giving to the Robert E. Kaiser Memorial Fund, you are helping individuals with disabilities experience the healing, joy and connection found on the water, while providing opportunities for students & veterans to volunteer.

ABOUT LUCKY AND BLESSED FISHING 🐟

Lucky and Blessed Fishing is a local Maryland 501c3 that provides inclusion, relationships and community through fishing adventures for differently abled individuals, families and groups. We are currently serving over a dozen community partners in several chapters of The ARC, Bay Community Support Service and Bello Machre to name a few and have had great success with AACPS Students volunteering over the summer. We also have other successful program including our Family Fishing Program, LABF Mentoring & Work-Share and our very first Summer Camps for ALL Abilities that was sponsored by the Rotary Club.

This is only our second year as a nonprofit and we've already impacted over 1000 individuals with different abilities in 8 counties in Maryland through 55 private fishing events since April and outcomes and impact is experienced at every inclusive event. We also recently received an award from Anne Arundel County County department of Aging and Disabilities for our work providing access to fishing and outdoor programs to disable populations in the County and we are super proud of our Work-share Initiative where we are providing volunteer and staff opportunities for adults with disabilites.

Why Fishing? 🎣

Engaging in outdoor activities like fishing not only offers recreational enjoyment but also provides therapeutic benefits, including stress reduction, improved mental well-being, and enhanced physical coordination. Creating inclusive community events where individuals of all abilities can participate fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment. It promotes social integration, breaks down barriers, and encourages mutual understanding and support among participants.
