Marysville Lacrosse Coach Leroy E. Engle, 46, of Marysville, died unexpectedly Friday evening, November 4^th, 2022 at his residence.

He was born March 22, 1976, in Columbus, and while he graduated from North Adult High School in 1995, he attended and played football at Mifflin High School. He married Jen L. (Bork) and they settled down in Marysville in 2002 to raise their children. He truly loved the Lord, and was a member of the Rock Church here in Marysville.

Leroy believed that “it isn’t a job if you love it” and he absolutely loved being the owner of the Mile High Awards and Apparel store, as well as being the director of the Marysville Junior Football Association for 16 years. He was a longtime football and lacrosse coach for the Monarchs, and he just loved every player he coached. He was also the biggest Bronco’s fan in the world who seriously loved his pizza, especially from Teritas in Columbus.

Leroy simply loved people. He had the best smile, the best hugs, and he never knew a stranger. Big hearted, those he loved he considered family. He always put others needs above his own, and he felt true enjoyment making others laugh and feel good about themselves. While he loved his Monarchs and his community, he truly treasured his family the most, and they will miss him tremendously.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer and their children Faith, Denver and Lincoln Engle; brother William “Willie” (Amy) Engle and their son Gabriel; mother Bonnie (Hall) Engle; step-father Thomas Tubaugh; Uncle Eugene Hall; cousin Justin (Chaleah) Hall and their son Dylan; mother-in-law Sandra Bork; Sisters-in-law Julie and her son Wade, Angie (Randy) and their sons Justin and Jason, and Audra (Paul); and a host of close and wonderful friends, and his Monarch family.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 12-3 pm at the Marysville High School Gymnasium where funeral services celebrating Leroy’s life will begin promptly at 3 pm with Pastor Tommy Powers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Marysville Boys Lacrosse program in care of Ingram Funeral Home.
