On Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 2 PM, Natural Creativity is hosting the 3rd Annual Germantown Literacy Fair at the Joseph E. Coleman Northwest Regional Library.

The fair is a free community day for all ages. It brings together about 20 local literacy and youth organizations, with free books for young people to take home, activities, music spun by young DJs from FamFrequency Productions, and a performance by Philadelphia's Youth Poet Laureate. Each year it's grown, and this year we expect it to be our biggest yet.
Why it matters
Every child deserves to see themselves as a reader. The Literacy Fair makes books, stories, and learning feel joyful, free, and close to home, and it connects families with the organizations in our neighborhood that support young people all year long.
What it takes to make the day happen
The fair is free for every family, and your gift covers the costs behind it:
$500: fair coordination and administration
$250: Philadelphia's Youth Poet Laureate
$250: our young DJs from FamFrequency Productions
$250: graphic design for posters and promotion
$250: coffee and donuts for our 30 community tablers
Goal: $2,000
About Natural Creativity
Natural Creativity began as a small, self-directed learning space created by three founders, Peter Bergson, Diane Cornman-Levy, and Christopher Steinmeier. They believed young people deserve more freedom, trust, and agency in their education.
Today, we're a community-based learning hub in Northwest Philadelphia with deep roots in Germantown, serving young people and families of all ages through self-directed programs, camps, and community events. Families come to us looking for flexible, relationship-centered, and neurodivergent-affirming alternatives to traditional schooling. We believe people learn best when they're supported in following their interests, building relationships, and engaging in real-world experiences, and the Literacy Fair is one way we bring that belief to our whole neighborhood.
With support from Councilmember Cindy Bass, 8th District.
Thank you for helping us keep reading free, joyful, and community-powered.

Giving levels:
