On Saturday, August 30, Orca Network will debut our Toki’s Legacy Exhibit at the Langley Whale Center. This new permanent exhibit is a community tribute to Tokitae (Lolita), the Southern Resident orca captured off Whidbey Island in 1970, who spent more than five decades in captivity before her passing in 2023.

This free, family-friendly event will run from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM and feature exhibit tours, interactive activities, and opportunities to reflect on Tokitae’s story and legacy. Visitors will be invited to learn about the history of orcas in the Pacific Northwest, the impacts of captivity, and how Tokitae continues to inspire action for marine conservation.
