These funds will assist Cynthia while other services are being set up to assist them.

"On September 26, the event that happened, changed me and my daughter‘s life for the rest of it and least long-term. We have a long road of healing.
my name is Cynthia Hansen. I am a United States Navy veteran and a New York State license massage therapist and I also was doing home health aid before this accident. Me and my daughter had just came back from bringing food to an old lady that couldn’t cook for herself. we went to Aldi‘s, and it seemed like a normal day and then we approached about four or five standing cars on route 9H waiting to turn on a major road and someone in a van sped into my grill passing these cars and hit us at full force head on, both me and My Daughter sustained substantial injuries and we also are going to require rehabilitation for a long time. My daughter is still hospitalized awaiting insurance to go onto rehab. Not only did this accident hurt our bodies but PTSD is definitely present and I see it so prevalent in my daughter however I do not like driving anymore because I see people being careless left right sideways. I am thankful that Daisy and I are alive but deal with tremendous pain. By the picture of the car you could see why. We have tremendous financial difficulties and I am not sure when I could get back to work with fractures in my lumbar 1-4 spine n ribs and concussion and my Daughter has a broken hip n surgery to repair but in so much pain and having anxiety and depression because she’s scared she’ll never walk again. So if I could work I need to care for my daughter and her disabilities due to this senseless accident.

Our Community Cares, Inc. was formed by a local group of concerned citizens who have stepped up to help those in need in the past. These have ranged from residents losing their homes to fire, illnesses, tragic accidents and financial hardships. The desire was to create a central organization that responded quickly and effectively to residents in need.

Our community has always come together and collectively responded when the need arose. Our Community Cares, Inc. wishes to continue this response but in a more structured and organized environment to provide a more measured and appropriate response when the need arises.
