For the past decade, the Torres del Paine Legacy Fund (TDPLF) has been dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Torres del Paine National Park and its surrounding communities in the Magallanes region of Chile. Thanks to the unwavering support and collaboration of our partners, volunteers, and donors, we have made a significant impact in one of the most breathtaking regions on Earth.

Our Achievements Since 2021:

Conservation Projects: We've improved 3.2 kilometers of the Base of the Towers trail, added 60+ drains, 288 stone steps, and realigned 506 meters of trail.
Sustainable Infrastructure: We opened the first sustainably designed and built trail in Torres del Paine, the “Lago Skottsberg Trail,” featuring interpretive panels, boardwalks, and suspension bridges.
Community Engagement: We've engaged 182 volunteers since 2021, contributing over 8,506 hours to park conservation. Our volunteer programs offer unique educational exchanges, allowing people from across Chile to experience the park, engage with park rangers, and learn about its natural and cultural heritage.
Wildlife Protection: Partnering with the US Fish & Wildlife Service, we've executed a comprehensive community awareness and education campaign about the huemul, including building a geodesic dome for conservation purposes and conducting numerous workshops.

However, we now face a critical juncture. The ongoing support from our two largest funders has come to an end. The Fink Family Foundation, which generously funded our operations for 10 years, has concluded its commitment. Additionally, the US Fish & Wildlife Service has shut down all funding for programs in Chile as of September 30th.
