Visionary Dance Theatre (VDT) needs your support and help to continue our mission to enhance the community with Dance and the Performing Arts. We are passionate about our mission and feel that the performing arts can change lives for the better. Your donation has impact and is also tax deductible.

Your support helps VDT sponsor scholarships that provide much needed access to the performing arts, especially to the underprivileged and underserved. These programs support many young artists and provides access to performing arts education in dance and musical theatre. Students get exciting and relevant training in the arts. The confidence and skills they learn transcends to all areas of their lives.

Not only does your support give access to a performing arts education, it also gives these young artists the opportunity to learn, collaborate and work with the professional artists and creative staff of VDT. This access to the professional artists and creative staff provides an advantage and unique learning experience.

As a BIPOC-led organization, we additionally continue our practice to be a home and a support for BIPOC Artists of the community. Visionary has always provided a Performing Arts haven for BIPOC Artists. Your support will help us continue our practice in providing opportunities and an environment to BIPOC Artists where they can learn, grow, perform, and be seen on stage. This gives BIPOC artists the confirmation and satisfaction of being paid for their art as an artist of color. Growing up as dancers of color, BIPOC artists experience subtle and overt racism in the Performing Arts, whether it’s being tokenized, passed up for a part, or put in the back of the group. We feel strongly in providing a fully inclusive environment for everyone that rewards passion and talent. Students and artists will not feel tokenized, passed up for a part, or put in the back of the group due to the color of their skin.

Driven by the Vision of Artistic Director Spencer John Powell, VDT strives to enrich the community and its own company members through the shared experience of dance, theatre, and art. Included in this Vision is the belief that dance is for everyone. VDT brings together dancers & performers of all skill levels to create an environment of shared passion, growth, and opportunity for all of its members.
