Since 2011, the G.W.C. Brown Legacy Education Fund has upheld a distinguished tradition of investing in the promise of young men throughout the Greater Hampton Roads region. Through scholarships, mentorship, education, and meaningful relationships with accomplished professionals and community leaders, the Fund has helped turn ambition into opportunity and dreams into reality.

This year, we invite you to enter an evening where elegance meets purpose, inspired by the grandeur and romance of the Bridgerton era. Amidst an atmosphere of refined splendor, we will gather to celebrate scholarship, achievement, leadership, and the enduring power of a community committed to its future.

For those who believe that education is among the greatest gifts one generation can bestow upon the next, your patronage is especially meaningful.

Each year, the G.W.C. Brown Legacy Education Fund awards customized scholarships to deserving young men throughout Hampton Roads who demonstrate academic promise, character, determination, and financial need. These awards are far more than financial assistance. They are an investment in potential—a helping hand extended at a pivotal moment and an affirmation that their aspirations are worthy of pursuit.

Yet our commitment does not end with a scholarship.

Through the Alpha Scholars Academy, part of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.'s historic national “Go to High School, Go to College” initiative, young men are afforded opportunities for academic enrichment, mentorship, leadership development, and professional exposure. Since 1932, this enduring program has empowered Alpha men to serve as mentors and guides, helping young men discover their purpose, recognize their potential, and chart a course toward success.

Our legacy is also embodied in the Alpha Leadership & Education Center (ALEC)—a distinguished building dating to the 1920s that stands as a testament to the generations who came before us. We envision ALEC as more than a historic structure; it is a gathering place for learning, leadership, fellowship, and opportunity—a place where yesterday's legacy can inspire tomorrow's leaders.

And so, as we gather for this year's grand affair, we invite you to embrace a tradition that transcends any single evening: the tradition of philanthropy.

In every era, there have been those who chose to open doors for others. Tonight, we ask you to be among them.

Your generous support helps provide scholarships, strengthen mentoring programs, expand educational opportunities, and preserve a legacy dedicated to the advancement of young men in our community.

Whether through a generous contribution, a sponsorship, or simply sharing our mission with others, your patronage has the power to change a young scholar's future.

After all, the greatest measure of one's legacy is not what we possess, but what we choose to bestow upon those who follow.

We invite you to give generously.

Honor the legacy.
Champion the scholar.
Shape the future.
