Story
Cinco de Mayo is a yearly celebration held on May 5th, which commemorates the Anniversary of Mexico’s victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. The victory for a small, poorly equipped Mexican army against the larger and better-armed French army was a morale booster for Mexicans.
The Latino Community in San Francisco will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo by launching English as a Second Language & Citizenship Classes for our migrant community and conducting a Voter Education & Registration that will also engage our new generation of Latino to create a more robust and inclusive democracy.
