Alianza Translatinx is the first ever transgender-led organization founded by transgender people of color in Orange County, CA.

Founded in 2020 by a group of trans immigrant women, Alianza Translatinx started as a grassroots response to address the specific needs of Trans Latinx immigrants during the COVID-19 pandemic through advocacy and volunteerism. Since then, our organization has evolved into a major source of support and services for transgender, gender non-conforming and intersex (TGI) Latinx people in Orange County and beyond.

Five Years of Resilience

This year, we celebrate five years in operation. Through an ever-shifting landscape of barriers and challenges, Alianza Translatinx has remained steadfast in its mission to protect, defend, and advocate for the needs and rights of the Transgender Latinx community and others in Orange County, CA. In the last five years, we've:

Distributed over $120k in crucial rental assistance funds to TGI Latinx people in need
Supported thousands of individuals with food, healthcare navigation, name & gender marker support and more at our drop-in center
Provided cultural competency training to over 400 service providers in the Orange County region
Built a strong voice for TGI Latinx communities in Orange County's local government, which has led to landmark investments in TGI public healthcare

A Future of Hope

Right now, our communities are under attack. Latinx people, immigrants, TGI people and those of us with intersecting identities are being harmed daily by racist, transphobic and anti-immigrant sentiments, initiatives and policies. For many historically marginalized communities, the feeling of being attacked is not new. We have endured centuries of violence against our people. How? Grassroots leadership, community organizing, mutual support and radical joy. There are few organizations dedicated to the wellbeing of TGI people, and even fewer that focus on the TGI Latinx community.

Alianza Translatinx and organizations like ours are especially important in this moment. Help us to continue to fight back. Help us to continue providing lifesaving support to our transgender, gender-nonconforming and intersex Latinx community.
