Grieving is hard, deeply personal, and rarely linear—especially for children who have lost a parent, a sibling, or a primary caregiver. As someone who lost my dad on the first day of high school, I know how pivotal early support can be. That’s why I’m grateful to be partnering with Comfort Zone Camp (CZC) as a volunteer, board member, and advisor to help this incredible organization grow.

CZC provides free overnight weekend camps for grieving children ages 7–17, offering all the activities, s'mores, and fun of kids’ camps, plus grief therapist-led healing circles where they can share their stories with other kids experiencing the same. Many arrive feeling alone in their grief; they leave knowing they’re not.

Over the past 28 years, CZC has supported more than 27,000 campers and has been featured in outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and USA Today. I’m excited to help lead the expansion into the Nashville, TN area and raise $120,000 to build a sustainable program for this fast-growing region. With your help, we can make this possible so kids can grieve, heal, and grow.

Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit 501(c)3 bereavement organization that transforms the lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, primary caregiver, or significant person. Our programs are free of charge and include trust-building activities and age-based support groups that break the emotional isolation grief often brings.
