Meet Gordo — the sweetest little black senior pug who recently found himself alone in a shelter, scared and in pain. When he arrived, it was clear he’d been hurting for a long time. His mouth was riddled with severe dental disease, and his back legs were so misaligned that every single step was uncomfortable.

We’ve already taken care of the first big hurdle: a much-needed dental cleaning with many extractions. Gordo is finally able to eat without pain. Now it’s time to tackle the part that affects him every moment of every day — his knees.

Gordo has been diagnosed with severe luxating patellas, and the only way for him to live a comfortable, pain-free life is corrective surgery. Even though he’s a senior boy, he’s otherwise healthy, full of love, and has so many good years ahead. We want those years to be happy, mobile, and pain-free.

He heads in for his surgical consultation this week, and based on our past cases, we know the cost will be around $5,000. We can’t move forward until the funds are raised — and this is where we’re hoping you can help.
