Public education in America is facing one of its most uncertain moments in recent history. At the federal level, reckless attacks on public schools and funding cuts threaten the very foundation of equitable education, especially in vulnerable districts like the Norristown Area School District. That’s why the Norristown Area Education Foundation (NAEF) exists: to step in where government support falls short and to make sure our community doesn't lose the opportunities it deserves.

Through arts, literacy, science, health and wellness, college and career mentorship, and teacher support, NAEF has:

Served over 500 NASD students in NAEF’s summer and afterschool programs, including programs in music, arts, literacy, STEAM, college and career exploration, and fitness
Helped over 1,000 NASD students expand their horizons through college tours, cultural excursions, and domestic/international trips, including a summer trip to Japan, a Broadway show in NYC, and visits to Princeton, Jefferson, UPenn, Chestnut Hill, and Villanova
Distributed over 3,000 free books to our Norristown community
Created 2 bilingual libraries in 2 elementary schools
Developed, hosted, and funded Norristown’s annual One Book One Norristown Arts and Literacy Festival
Developed and funded annual Read Across America events at NASD elementary schools during, giving out over 400 signed copies of books and introducing 400+ students to local children’s authors and illustrators
Supplied 50+ teachers with classroom resources and professional development
