60 Years of Caring

In 1966, Crisis Support Services of Nevada began as an outreach program of the University of Nevada, Reno, created in response to the high rate of suicide in Nevada.

What started as a 24-hour hotline has grown into a coordinated system of crisis response.

Today, Crisis Support Services of Nevada is Northern Nevada’s 24/7 crisis contact center and the region’s provider of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. We answer multiple specialized hotlines, connect individuals to care through our Victim Services and Care Coordination Units, and play a key role in Nevada’s crisis response system.

Each month, our team fields thousands of calls, texts, and chats, supports survivors of sexual violence, and assists individuals navigating complex situations to access care and services.

This work requires constant readiness. Trained staff, reliable technology, and strong partnerships must be in place at all times to ensure support is available when it is needed most.
