Every great food business starts somewhere — a home kitchen, a farmers market table, a recipe that finally feels ready to share. At OH Taste Foundation, we built 6888 Kitchen to give local food entrepreneurs that starting point: real kitchen space, real support, and a real shot at turning a recipe into a business.

This September, we're taking that mission to the next level with From Scratch Food Expo, our first-ever flagship event — happening Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the historic Dayton Arcade.

From Scratch will bring our food founders face-to-face with the people who can help them grow: funders, retailers, and the Dayton community. The day includes three expert panels on funding, founder inspiration, and retailer perspectives, plus a food-sampling showcase in the Arcade's landmark Rotunda featuring dozens of local entrepreneurs — many of them our own 6888 Kitchen members, sampling and selling their products publicly for the first time.

As our inaugural year, every dollar raised helps us build From Scratch the right way — covering things like kitchen time and stipends for our participating food founders, event insurance and safety essentials, vendor and program materials, and documentation to capture this first year so we can grow it for years to come.
