What began as a bold vision by Dr. Brittney Autry, DSW, LCSW, has grown into a citywide movement through a powerful partnership with Tiffany Wartman and Educating Our Community, NFP (EOC).

The Vision Behind Activate(Her) Field Day

Dr. Brittney Autry—a proud military brat with a global perspective on healing—founded Cent(her)ed Collective with one clear mission: closing the mental health gap for Black women and girls. Through therapy, retreats, and youth programming, she is creating safe spaces where Black women can heal, grow, and thrive. With a doctorate in Social Work and expertise in Personality Psychology and Social Work, Brittney has developed culturally expansive mental health programs that ensure Black girls receive early access to foundational mental health resources—an essential step toward breaking cycles of trauma and building generational resilience.

On the financial side of wellness, Tiffany Wartman, a native of Englewood, has spent the last 15 years empowering communities with knowledge and resources. As the CEO of Educating Our Community, she is deeply committed to financial literacy, stability, and resource access for marginalized communities. Her financial education curriculum is now being used in Chicago’s public and private high schools, giving young people the tools to build wealth early in life. Tiffany believes that mental and physical health are deeply connected to economic stability, and through EOC’s collaboration with Cent(her)ed Collective, the Activate(Her) Field Day provides an inclusive and empowering experience for all.
