$16 per month, $4 per week is what it takes to sponsor a child! The child will receive a Backpack Food Bag every week of the 2026 School Year!

In April 2020, SOKY PATRIOTS INC was approached by Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland (FAKH), and asked if we would be interested in accepting the task of facilitating the Warren County Backpack Program. After consulting among our board of directors, we accepted. In the Fall of 2020, we began providing food bags from Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland to Warren County Children. The bag numbers quickly increased to around 500 children per week.

in the fall of 2021, we were informed of a problem. Some families were discarding over 50% of the backpack food due to the foods not fitting into their dietary needs. We quickly learned the foods that were being discarded and were informed why they were being discarded.

In the fall of 2021, SOKY PATRIOTS INC., working with local Family Resource Youth Services Centers (FRYSC’s), launched a pilot program called the Specialty Food Bag Program. Out of 20 different foods, the FRYSC’s selected 12 foods to be placed into a bag for food insecure children to take home on the weekend.

In the spring of 2022, the pilot program grew into a FRYSC approved program. The bag numbers of the Specialty Food Bag Program quickly grew to 280 bags a week.

Fast forward to the fall of 2025. The Feeding America Food Bag numbers are averaging 500 per week. The Specialty Food Bag Program Bags are averaging 500 per week also. More children with food insecurities are receiving food bags in Warren County.

1000 food bags per week requires the monetary sum of $4000. Our organization has been able to provide that sum via grants from FAKH, writing for grants from other agencies, food solicitation programs at local grocery stores, and donations.

As times of funding change, we need your support in new ways. Thus we are launching the monthly sponsorship campaign.
