What is 50 Fellas Food Fest?

50 Fellas Food Fest brings together local foodies and home chefs to raise money for the Georgetown ISD Education Foundation (GEF).

Chef cook teams enter their culinary creations in one of 3 categories: appetizers, entrees or desserts, and guests can sample each and vote on their favorite. While the "winners" in each category go home with bragging rights, the real winners are the students and teachers in the district.

This is the premier fundraiser for GEF and all proceeds support the foundation's mission to engage the community in financial support of a learning environment where innovation, customized academic opportunities, and individual success are attainable for all GISD students.

Anyone - fella or female - in our community who is interested in registering a cook team is welcome.

We look forward to seeing you at the most fun event in Georgetown this year and appreciate your support of our cause!

Chef Team Information

Cost of Entry - $75 dollars per cook team. Entry fee includes unlimited beer, lunch, games, aprons, and some special cook team extras.

DO NOT LET THE COST OF ENTRY DISSUADE YOU! WE HAVE COOK TEAM SPONSORS THAT WILL FOOT THE BILL. ASK US HOW TO BE SPONSORED.

Schedule of Events
Saturday Oct. 19th Gates open at 8am

Cooks tailgate will be open with college football games on multiple big screens, horse-shoes, washers, and bags under the shade of the ROCK arena, along with some other surprises to make sure your day of cooking is relaxing and enjoyable. Beer will be provided. Please note that we are limiting the area for CHEFS ONLY on Saturday until the gates open for general public at 6pm. Feel Free to come and go on Saturday (for example if you are cooking at home please come up to the tailgate, hang out and then go back and finish your dish.)

What you get from us:

6 foot table set up in the ROCK arena to serve your food
Gloves and serving dishes to present your bites in
2 chef only aprons per team to be proudly worn so everyone knows you are the chef!
A container to be used to collect your votes
2 Free Tickets per team to hand out (2 chefs do not need a ticket)
Please send to Greg (gbowd32@gmail.com) the names and email addresses of people that will attend and we will put them on the list! Remember this is a popular vote so bring people that will vote for you!

What you are Responsible for:

250 Bite size samples of whatever dish you have decided to cook. It must be ready to be served at 5:40
pm.
Whatever items you need to prepare, cook, warm, cool, or serve your food
Table decorations: Feel free to display your team, business or school name to attract people to vote for
you. Historically, those chef teams with the best decorated tables (and even costumes) have received the
most support from attendees. Feel free to have fun.
There is no serving of Alcohol at the table. Our TABC guidelines prohibits you serving ALCOHOL to the
guests. PLEASE HELP KEEP US OUT OF TROUBLE!
