The Arestua Hut (11,120 ft), formerly the Guinn Mountain Hut was built in 1969. It is located on the north side of Guinn Mountain and provides a winter shelter for Snowshoers and Nordic & backcountry skiers. The area has breathtaking views of the Front Range and the high plains, and it's open to day visitors and overnight users. It is a restful haven when needing a break from a day of skiing and snowshoeing the many trails around Guinn Mountain.

Last November, The Arestua Hut team opened the hut for the 2023/2024 Winter Season and we were shocked to see the amount of damage the hut incurred by our local bear who didn't want to take "NO" for an answer. We now have a new project: repairing and upgrading the siding of the hut.

Please help us restore the siding and insulation of the hut after the bear damage with updated materials that are both bear and fire resistant. Your donation and support will provide another 50+ years of backcountry shelter and community for everyone who's come to know and love the Arestua Hut!
