"I didn't think editing was a career option." That's what one of our students told me during our first summer pilot program. For me, growing up with my dad's camera in hand, storytelling was everything. But when I entered the professional world of post-production, I quickly realized I was often the only woman—and the only Black woman—in the room.

The percentage of women editors in film has not changed in twenty years. The door has been stuck shut. Not because of a lack of talent, but because of a lack of access.

Why We’re Raising $15,000

At She CAN Edit, we are kicking that door open. We empower the next generation of women storytellers by providing free, hands-on instruction in the high-tech, high-wage skills of post-production—video editing, color grading, and sound design.

But to do this, we need the tools.

This Giving Tuesday, our goal is to build our first-ever Creator's Fund to purchase 15 Apple Laptops. These aren't just computers; they are the industry-standard tools our students need to build professional skills, portfolios, and confidence.
