About Us:

Humble Design furnishes homes for Chicago families and vets emerging from homelessness. Using donated furniture and home goods, our staff and volunteer team transforms empty houses into homes based on our clients’ needs and preferences.

This simple, but profound, act helps break the cycle of homelessness by mitigating the high cost of setting up a home and creating a foundation of stability and self-sufficiency.

Nationally, nearly 50% of people who leave homelessness return within a year. With Humble Design services, 94% of our clients remain housed.

Since opening in 2017, we have furnished more than 820 homes for 2,400 people, half of which are children. With your support, we will continue in our mission to change lives and communities across Chicago

The Impact:

$100 Donation

By the time we complete one of our deco installations, we ensure our clients have the cookware to make their first meal and a table and chairs at which to enjoy it. Your gift provides a set of essential dishes and cutlery for a family to gather for mealtimes.

Too often, children are left to sleep on the bare floor as their families emerge from homelessness. Your contribution enables a child to move off the floor and into their own warm and comfortable bed.

Securing shelter is a critical first step, but ensuring clients can start fresh requires more. Your gift ensures a family has sheets and blankets to put on their beds.

Having a space for families to come together is essential to building a strong and stable foundation. Your contribution provides the essential living room furniture for a family to gather.
