We actually have more than two this week!

17th SOF's Mirage received a BAP (big-ass powerstation.)

4th Heavy Mechanized received a Fossibot powerstation.

An SOF unit we've been asked not to name was gifted a captured russian Mavic. Their engineering team had to refurbish it first. When they got it back, it had no controller, battery, or propellers. You provided all three. Here they are with the controller. Yes, the choice to leave two guys' eyes exposed was deliberate: they're the Official Team Handsome Lads. Aw.

The 25th got 50 kg (110 lbs) of ABS filament to keep their venerable print farm going.

$2 TACO Tuesday

(I consider TACO Tuesday Scott's thing and wouldn't normally interfere with it, but as I write this trump is threatening to obliterate Iran if they don't open the Strait of Hormuz, so I'm keeping TACO Tuesday this week.)

Today we have a travel mug from the 38th Marine Brigade and a rearview mirror banner (I don't know what they're called) from the 43rd Mechanized Brigade. We also have one embroidered keychain and one shell casing keychain of unknown provenance; it showed up in a parcel someone sent Arcaist. Finally, and back by popular demand, another MINE sign.

$5 77th Pack

You've sent 77th Airmobile tourniquets, powerstations, and other needful things. In thanks, they sent us this signed flag and an assortment of patches: their unit patch, a troop patch (half circle with a parachute; combined with the purple color, this indicates that the bearer is part of the airborne forces), a morale patch, and the personal patch of, we're pretty sure, a sniper.

In closing:

This weekend, I took a pleasant little road trip to meet up with a fellow volunteer NGO director who's in the States for a brief visit. She's become a close friend over the years. I wouldn't know her if it weren't for the war. Nor would I know Arcaist, or Scott, or the Official Team Handsome Lad on the right in the photo above, or any number of other people who have made my world bigger and my life richer.

I sometimes feel a bit guilty about how grateful I am for all of them, because I wouldn't have any of them if it weren't for the horrors russia is visiting on Ukraine every minute of every day. Given the chance, I'd happily go without any of these people if it meant this war had never happened. But since it did, and is, and will continue to, I'll take my joys where I can find them, including great joy in the people I have the privilege of being in the fight with.

That includes every last one of you. Everyone. This is, let's be real, a dark, scary, infurating, sickening time in so many ways, and you make it more bearable. Thank you. I hope you're taking all the joys you can find, too.
