Angel’s Story: From Neglect to Hope

When Angel, a tiny pug, was found dumped and suffering from severe mange, her skin was raw, her eyes were filled with fear, and her little body trembled from discomfort. She didn’t deserve this—but despite her pain, she still wagged her tail when our team approached.

Dumping is illegal, but we’re grateful that Angel’s journey ended at Palm Valley Animal Society instead of on the streets. Here, she’s finally safe. Our dedicated medical staff is giving her the care she needs to heal, and our team is working tirelessly to network her with rescue partners who can provide the specialized treatment and attention she deserves.

Angel’s story isn’t an isolated one—it’s a reminder of why PVAS exists.

With two operational centers in Edinburg, TX, PVAS provides shelter and care to more than 10,000 animals each year, serving as the largest intake facility in Hidalgo County.
