The AHBA Shoebox Program is a community favorite!

The AHBA Shoebox Program began in 2002. It graduated from small shoeboxes to backpacks and has grown from 40 to over 1,600 children sponsored. This is all thanks to our generous membership and community partners for keeping this program going year after year!

AHBA members look forward to providing a Secret Santa experience to elementary aged children {who might not otherwise have a Christmas due to financial hardship, homelessness, etc.} by filling backpacks with gifts and essentials. Below are two ways you can participate in the program!

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT THE CAUSE

In the month of November, pick up a backpack at the AHBA office (301 Arctic Slope Ave., Ste 102) and stuff it with goodies (age & gender are provided). Call 907-522-3605 or email ahbashoebox@gmail.com to reserve your backpack(s) today!

OR

Sponsor a child by donating $60 (per child) and the AHBA elves will stuff it for you!

Once all backpacks are filled, they are distributed to their schools and discreetly given to the families. Christmas morning is a bit more joyful for these families! Again, these special moments are possible with the help of you, our members and our community.
