I recently celebrated over 635 days in Ukraine, this is still my first and only time here. Lately I have spent more time searching for money to fix my donated vehicles than I have fighting the enemy. I hope you can help with this

For over 635 days I have done everything I can to help fight for civilization, Ukrainian independence, freedom and sovereignty.

Yes, we are fighting for civilization because this war is not only for Ukraine, but for the freedom for all peoples and nations under threat from the Russian Federation. This includes the United States and Europe! I ask you to do more than to sit idly by, fearfully observing how many of us are fighting to survive for another day. My name is Matthew Sampson. I am a U.S. Marine Veteran volunteering in Ukraine. The US Government does NOT pay me nor my team to be here. It is because we are volunteers that we have to pay for almost all of our operational expenses.

I was recently near Bakhmut doing everything I can to help the Ukrainian people. Our work here is improving many lives. It is a blessing to see russia’s evil being kept at bay though the operations I am part of. Unfortunately, being a volunteer creates hefty financial burdens.

Recently, one of my teammates had to sell parts of his uniform to buy combat boots. Sadly, he was also recently wounded when hit by Russian artillery. We are supporting him as best as we can as funds allow. We currently have multiple vehicles broken down waiting on money for repairs, money that I am trying to find.

The material costs for fighting russia in Ukraine include food, water, supplies to work, vehicle maintenance, vehicles (yes, our vehicles get destroyed), medical equipment (yes, at times we are injured). I have to pay for a lot of these things out of my own pocket. Frustratingly, due to the lack of support we receive, we regularly run out of money even for food. To reduce unnecessary costs, I have vacated my home in New Mexico
