Fewer than 100 tickets are available for this special event and all proceeds benefit Haight Street Art Center's important education & community building efforts! Doors/Meet & Greet: 6:00pm Show Time: 7:00pm - 9:00 pm ABOUT JESSE COLIN YOUNG Jesse Colin Young is a pioneer of American roots music. For more than half a century, he has left a unique mark on the intersecting worlds of folk, blues, jazz, country, and rock & roll. As the frontman of the Youngbloods, he immortalized the ideals of the Woodstock generation with "Get Together," an international hit that called for peace and brotherhood during the turbulent 1960s. During the decades that followed, Young expanded both his audience and his artistic range, releasing a string of solo albums that mixed socially conscious lyrics with top-tier guitar skills and gorgeous vocals. An acclaimed songwriter, singer, instrumentalist, producer, label owner, podcast host, and longtime social/environmental activist, he has established a permanent place in America's musical landscape, while continuing to make modern music that's every bit as vital as his work during the counterculture era. Jesse Colin Young is set to captivate audiences with an intimate acoustic set, offering a rare and deeply personal musical experience. This stripped-down performance will not only feature his iconic hits but also provide the audience with the stories behind the songs, adding layers of depth and meaning to the melodies we've come to love. The acoustic set serves as a testament to Young's versatility as an artist, showcasing his exceptional vocal range and mastery of the guitar. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to his music, this acoustic set promises to be a soulful journey through his illustrious career. It's an unmissable event that will allow attendees to experience the raw emotion and storytelling prowess that have solidified Jesse Colin Young as an enduring figure in American music. ABOUT RIDGETOP: "Ridgetop" is a poignant song penned by Jesse Colin Young, inspired by his beloved home in Point Reyes, California. Accompanied by never-before-seen video footage called “High on a Ridgetop”, the song provides a rare look into its creation and Young's life during that period. After moving his band, The Youngbloods, from New York to Northern California in 1967, this home became a meaningful sanctuary for those looking to be embraced by nature. Tragically, in 1995, this dream home was consumed by the devastating Mount Vision wildfires, leaving an indelible mark of sorrow on Young and his community. Remarkably, one of his recording studios survived the blaze. ABOUT SONG FOR JULI: To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Jesse Colin Young has released a fully remastered version of his iconic album, "Song for Juli," originally launched on September 4, 1973. The all-new version is available on all streaming platforms as well as extremely limited-edition vinyl. This album is the fourth solo album by singer-songwriter and former Youngblood. The album had a higher chart placing than any of the Youngblood albums, and stayed on the charts longer than any other album he currently created. Several of the songs include stories about Young's Ridgetop home in Northern California. The house burned down in 1995 by the Mount Vision Fires. According to Guitar International, this album and Jesse Colin Young’s career contributing to music as a whole “is forever woven into the fabric of the American Dream, where the fundamental elements of ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness’ are rooted in humane musical gifts bestowed by him to all of us.” 215 Haight St, San Francisco, CA 94102, USA
