In 2025, Educating Our Community, NFP took bold steps forward in our mission to create access and cultivate power in underserved communities. With your support, we expanded our reach, deepened our impact, and touched the lives of more than 1,275 youth and young adults through transformational programming. From vocational training cohorts at Dyett High School to our quarterly Beauty Shop and Barbershop Talks, we’ve created spaces for learning, healing, and connection that inspire lasting change.

Hoops for Health: Engaged youth and families through basketball, health screenings, and wellness resources, creating bridges between sports and community health.
Adulting 101 Workshop: Equipped young adults with practical tools around communication, healthcare, and financial independence.
Vocational Training: Provided hands-on career pathways for over 300 youth and young adults, preparing them for long-term workforce success.
Beauty Shop & Barbershop Talks: Created safe, trusted spaces to discuss mental health, financial literacy, and personal growth.
Community Reach: Through our events and partnerships, we directly connected with over 1,275 participants, proving that access and education can transform lives.

With a bold $1 million fundraising goal for 2026, we’re committed to scaling our work and driving even greater impact. These funds will allow us to:

Expand our educational and vocational training programs, preparing even more youth for real-world success.
Increase access to mental and physical health resources, ensuring underserved families receive the care they deserve.
Grow our signature community events — Hoops for Health, Adulting 101, Beauty & Barbershop Talks, and Activate(Her) Field Day — reaching thousands more youth and families across Chicago.
Build sustainability, creating pathways for long-term financial empowerment and generational wealth in Black communities.

To start strong, our immediate fundraising goal is $250,000 to launch new programming in early 2026 and cover program materials, youth transportation, and health and wellness resources that directly impact hundreds of families.
