The Woodside Music Booster Organization is an all-volunteer parent group dedicated to ensuring every student has the opportunity to participate fully in music education and performance. The jazz band is a cornerstone of this mission, giving students the chance to explore improvisation, rhythm, and ensemble collaboration while building confidence and stage presence.

Students join the jazz band with a wide range of experience, from those just discovering jazz to advanced players eager to take their skills to the next level. We welcome all and provide the resources and support each student needs to grow as a musician.

Running a jazz band requires resources beyond the classroom. It costs about $500 per student each year to cover instruments, sheet music licenses, professional instruction, and travel to Jazz festivals. These expenses are funded entirely by the generosity of parents, friends, and community members who believe in the value of music education.
