Support Playgroup at the Gene Lucas Community Center

Annual Goal: $10,000

Playgroup at the GLC is a free, drop in program for children ages 0 to 5 and the adults who care for them. We meet three mornings a week to play, read, sing, move, and spend time together.

There is no sign up and no cost. Families are welcome as they are.

Toys, books, and play materials
Activity supplies + field trips
A safe and welcoming space for families

Why Playgroup Matters

Playgroup is often one of the first places families find connection. Children have space to explore, build confidence, and form early friendships. Their world opens up a little as they learn how to be with other kids in a low pressure, play based environment that helps prepare them for preschool and beyond.

Caregivers have a place to sit, talk, and feel supported. Our staff are there as a steady presence, offering guidance when needed and helping connect families to local resources, programs, and activities.

Playgroup is free, flexible, and rooted in community. We love the families who make it what it is. If you have not joined us yet, we would love to welcome you.

Raising $10,000 allows us to continue offering playgroup three days a week, year round, at no cost to families.
