Rescue Coop was formed to help save at-risk dogs from southern kill shelters facing imminent euthanasia and those found to be in great need of medical care.

For Giving Tuesday, we would like to rescue a dog in need of safety, medical care and love and provide him with the care needed to become healthy and find a forever home. We have chosen to help Butters in honor of the Givebutter platform which helps so many nonprofits. Butters is sitting in the kill shelter with a severe hind leg injury. From now through Giving Tuesday, we will accept donations for Butters to get him out of the kill shelter, complete vetting, show him kindness and love and ensure he's healthy and ready for a better tomorrow.

Update: We have been able to get Butters out of the kill shelter and examined by the vet. Butters has a pelvic fraction that appears to be old which has been causing him severe pain. The initial recommendation is amputation. He is also heartworm and Lyme positive. Any funds raised will help with Butters heartworm treatment, get him evaluated by a specialist and have his hind leg amputated if necessary.
