Building 979 is a community-centered program of Buffalo Nation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, created to connect people with practical help, meaningful relationships, and opportunities to grow.

Our primary focus is helping teens and young adults prepare for strong, independent futures through mentoring, college and career guidance, life-skills development, technology, educational resources, emergency essentials, meals, and connections with caring adults.

As our work has grown, so has our understanding of our community's needs. Building 979 also provides practical support to older adults and others who may need help navigating technology, accessing resources, completing everyday tasks, or simply finding someone willing to help.

We believe stronger communities are built when generations come together, share what they know, and look out for one another.

We're building more than a building. We're building a place where people help people.
