Update: Sadly, Paris lost her battle with this horrific blood borne parasite. After two transfusions, her body started attacking her red blood cells again she was too weak to go through another transfusion and the donor cat couldn't be used a 3rd time. We had no choice but to let her go. Her foster raced to the hospital to be by her side as she crossed the rainbow bridge. Today we try to focus on the positive memories. Please help us finish paying off her amazing veterinarian so we can only have reminders of how great of a spirit she was.

We rushed her to Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Santa Ana with Dr. Weber and his caring staff, where we received some distressing news.

Paris is currently battling a severe case of anemia, and the cause remains a mystery. Despite our best efforts and the unwavering care of our incredible fosters, her condition has taken a turn for the worse. To give Paris the fighting chance she deserves, she requires an extended hospital stay and a blood transfusions. These treatments will not only save her life, so she can finally find the forever home she so desperately deserves.

Act 2 Rescue started with a very sick kitty who needed help. On December 1st 2020, a plea for help was posted on the online NextDoor community. When no one offered to help, I decided to pick him up. I found Turbo, unable to stand or even lift his head. His eyes were swollen shut with incredible amounts of pus. I cleaned out his eyes, picked him up and drove him home. This feral cat was limp in my arms. Once home, I went back to the post asking for ideas and help. I quickly realized he was going to die without immediate hospitalization. Thousands of dollars in donated vet bills, 3 days hospitalized and many follow ups later, this 18month old feral cat is now my biggest teddy bear. Without the support of many hearts, he wouldn't be alive today. Our rescue has decided to sanctuary him as he is very scared of anyone but me since I nursed him back to health, sleeping with him for weeks in quarantine.

Through your support we have been able to establish ourselves as a nonprofit. We have been able to help over 500 animals and assisted with getting hundreds of cats and some dogs sterilized. We continue to support some of our sanctuary medically fragile cats all with donor support and the hard work of our volunteers.
