Who is Project I Am NFP

Project I Am NFP is a youth-led service organization dedicated to raising awareness about homelessness while empowering young change agents to make a global impact.

Our mission is to provide both temporary support and long-term solutions for those experiencing homelessness. We believe in the power of now.

Guided by our motto, “Don’t Wait to Be Great,” we encourage youth to take action today. Inspiring a generation of servant leaders, community builders, and social entrepreneurs who are shaping change in their communities and around the world.

Our Story

Project I Am NFP began in 2016, when an eight-year-old Jahkil Jackson gathered fifteen friends to pack 88 Blessing Bags filled with hygiene items, snacks, and first aid supplies to support people experiencing homelessness.

Since that day, Project I Am has grown into a nationally recognized movement, expanding the Blessing Bag program to reach the unhoused and families affected by natural disasters across the country.

In 2023, we launched the Holiday Give Back Program in partnership with True Star Media, distributing coats, toys, socks, and lunches to families at the Primo Center for Women & Children, serving more than 575 youth in the inaugural year.

To date, Jahkil, now 18, and his dedicated team have impacted over 250,000 people in need worldwide, while inspiring other young leaders through initiatives like Project I Am: Next Up and Don’t Wait to Be Great 2.0.

From one act of kindness to a global movement, Project I Am NFP continues to ignite a generation of youth determined to lead with purpose, compassion, and action.
