Each day at Next Step Clubhouse, there is laughter and joy, connection and community. We are a special place for special people -- adults and teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

We believe that opportunities to form friendships matter. We believe that learning and growing matters. We believe that supporting our own health and bolstering the welfare of others in our city matters.

So at Next Step Clubhouse, you'll find us practicing social skills with our interns from UNC Charlotte, making art, dancing Zumba, practicing meditation in yoga, reading with Homer the Librarian from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, experiencing music therapy from our student friends at Queens University, having lunch with our lunch buddies from AvidXchange and Bank of America ... or you might just find us heading out on a field trip to volunteer at Nourish Up or Samaritan's Feet or taking one of our daily “community walks” around Uptown Charlotte, saying hello to all our neighbors.

When you give, you make a statement. You show you recognize how important it is for our neighbors with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to have opportunities for community and engagement. We are entirely funded by donations, community grants, and member fees (which cover about 1/3 of our actual costs). Won't you join us in our mission this holiday season?
